Methods

I approach therapy with a holistic, client-centered and trauma-informed lens. I strive to see each client as an integrated whole, acknowledging the different parts of their past and culture and identifying how this influences their emotions and behavior in the present.

I use evidence-based music therapy and psychotherapy methods tailored to each individual client in order to provide the quality care they deserve.

Analytical Music Therapy

Analytical Music Therapy is an approach that uses music to explore the depths of the client's inner world and unconscious mind to bring about growth and knowledge of self. The emphasis of working through emotional blockages in allows clients to have more positive experiences in a way that strengthens and validates them.

Psychodynamic Therapy

Psychodynamic therapy is an approach focused on uncovering unconscious patterns, resolving past conflicts, and understanding how early life experiences shape current behavior. It aims for long-term personality change and symptom relief through open-ended dialogue, dream analysis, and examining the therapist-client relationship (transference). This self-discovery can help you feel more confident, build stronger relationships and manage your mental wellbeing

Resource-Oriented Music Therapy

Resource-Oriented Music Therapy is an approach to music therapy that involves meeting the client where they are at mentally and utilizing their strengths rather than focusing on weaknesses. By maximizing a client's resources, this approach helps build resiliency and instill confidence that will carry beyond their time in therapy.

Gestalt Therapy

Gestalt therapy is a humanistic, client-centered form of psychotherapy that focuses on the "here and now," personal responsibility, and emotional awareness. With this method, you are seen as an integrated whole (mind and body) rather than separate parts. Using Gestalt therapy helps individuals increase self-awareness to resolve current conflicts.
